Lutein

Lutein also known as plant progesterone,is a natural pigment widely present in the banana ,kiwi,corn and marigold. Lutein is a kind of carotenoid . Lutein have very complex structures,currently can not be synthesized by manual . Lutein can be only extract from plants. Lutein after extract has very important application in the field of food and health. Because the human body can not produce lutein.So we can only In food intake or additional supplementary,so more and more attention has been paid. Lutein can protect eyesight,it is a good food colorant,can regulate blood lipids,has the role of blockage of the arteries,and can fight cancer.

Function:

1.As a pigment: Orange natural pigment is widely used in chicken feed and also in some food,  but the scope is limited because they do not dissolve in water.

2.Eye protection: Lutein can absorb  blue light.  The sun's ultraviolet, blue light into eyes will produce a large number of free radicals, cause cataracts, macular degeneration 

and even cancer. The human's eye contains high level of lutein which can not be produced by human' bodies and which must be supplemented by intake of it. Studies show

that intake of lutein will help slow the aging, degradation, disease occur of eyes and reduce the incidence of eye-diseases and protect the retina from light damage.

3.Antioxidant: The latest studies show that lutein is helpful for  the treatment of heart disease and may prevent arterial wall thickening.

Anyway,Lutein- one of the most common Carotenoids widely presented in plants especially dark-green leafy vegetables. Lutein is synthesized only by plant itself and like other xanthophylls which is usually found in green leafy vegetables such as spinach, kale and Marigold Flower.

In green plants, lutein act as modulate light energy and serve as a non-photochemical quenching agents to deal with triplet chlorophyll (an excited form of chlorophyll), which is over produced at very high light levels, during photosynthesis. Lutein is also a very important natural yellow pigment in our lives due to its color.
